Corneal Evaluations |
The cornea is the clear window in the front of the eye that covers the iris and the pupil. Light passes through the cornea and focuses on the back of the eye, creating vision. The cornea is very sensitive. There are more nerve endings in the cornea than anywhere else in the body. A damaged cornea will swell and distort vision. Corneal problems are painful. Some common causes of corneal problems include infection, injury, and complications from previous eye surgery. Doctors use a variety of treatment options for corneal problems including medications, eye drops, special contact lenses, or surgical transplants. The doctors at Havasu Eye Center can evaluate corneal problems and advise patients on appropriate treatments. |
